Smite: Conquest Season 8 (Chaos base concepts)

This is most of the concept work i did for the chaos base in this latest season of Smite conquest. The theme was around the god Tiamat, in particular making a base echoing the hanging gardens of Babylon.
Big shoutout to my fellow concept crewmate Justin Baker who laid a lot of the groundwork on the look of the chaos base with various early keyart he did, and a shout out to him and the rest of the team as well for giving some great feedback as all of these concepts were being made.

Above is the main entrance to the chaos base. It was actually done in two concepts that i stitched together.

The main gate in the foreground was one piece, and the archway to the left and everything to the left of that was a completely separate concept.

The image above is just kind of showing my process a bit (along with the next image below)

Basically had a blocker the shape of a cylinder, and this was me working through making that cylindrical blocker a bit more interesting.

2nd part of the previous concept. We had quite a few cylindrical line of sight blockers in this map and i ended up doing a lot of different options for what we could do with them.

The image above is little archway and garden near the center of the base. I think i was looking at a lot of pictures from our local Georgia botanical gardens when i came up with this one.

The vista just behind where players spawn, Tiamat's temple. My goal for a lot of this stuff was make it lush and covered in plants, but not out of control. Just enough overgrowth so its hanging gardens but not so much that its hanging *overgrown ruins*.

These jars are just a more detailed shot of the props just below the archway in the previous shot above.

In the chaos base there's various portals that monsters spawn from, these are the spawners in the chaos base.

This stairstep building is leading out of the chaos base. The stairstep shape is a repeated decorative design element everywhere else in the chaos base. I wanted to see if i could make a stairstep building with waterfalls and plants cascading down.

Zoomed out shot of the back of the chaos base. This sketch was heavily based on Justin Baker's keyart here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/KrdmvW
Also someone mentioned putting a dinosaur at the top. Unfortunately didn't make it into the game lol.
